My husband has been sick for about 3 weeks, maybe longer. I think he has the flu, and its getting worse. I have tried telling him he needs to go to the doctor. And he wont go. We have no insurance, and I think that is the main reason he wont go. I would like to know if there are any guys out there that go when they are sick, or if anyone else has this same problem. I really think he needs to go. My kids are all getting this mess too, and its just passing around because he is still sick too. Please help me out and let me know what you do, or advice on what I can try. Thanks a lot!

I think my husband is too stubborn too. The whole time he was sick all he kept saying was, I cant go to the doctor, I need tires put on my truck. He made me so mad when he did that. I couldnt realy afford to pay for him to go, but I would have came up with sometihng. And we are still trying to get it fixed and put new tires on it before it snows too bad.

We don't I haven't been to a doctor for an illness since I was a kid and I have been really sick with the flu and with tonsillitis since then. I just deal with it. But that is me. I hate doctors, lol. I hate taking medicine (probably why I end up sick for weeks at a time). My kids have never had sick visits to the doctor either. I don't think they have ever been sick enough to go.
My husband wouldn't go to the doctor if he was sick. What he does is whine and cry like a baby and then I have 1 more child to take care of (usually when I am as sick or sicker then he is).

I usually take OTC stuff if I am really sick, but otherwise do nothing different. I haven't had a primary doctor since I was 18 and left the care of my pediatrician. I have had OB/GYNs when I was pregnant but only see them when I am pregnant. Recently I found a primary doctor to get tests for somethings so I do now have a doctor if I really needed to go.
Actually my kids have had a couple of "sick" visits but nothing serious. We had to take my oldest to the ER when she was 11 months because she was running a fever of 103 under her arm. It was just a virus and fever broke that night and she was fine. Then she had one other "semi-sick" visit when she was 20 months. We were at a check up for our son and asked the doctor to just take a peak at her eyes because they were crusty. She had pink-eye so he set up a file for her and checked her out. And one other time I took her to the ER because when she was 3 because she said her head hurt and she had woke up screaming and confused. But we left before she was seen because she was feeling better. Other then that she has only been to the doctor for well visits.
My son has had 2 "sick" visits. One was to have a doctor look at a sty in his eye that wouldn't go away after a month. The other was an ER trip when he dislocated his elbow, but he really wasn't sick so not sure if that counts.
The other two have never had sick visits (they are 4 and 7 months). I don't think a cough and runny nose need a sick visit to a doctor. I just give them cough medicine and that is it. They have never had sore throats or ear infections or any thing like that.

I havent ever met anyone who hasnt been to the doctor for sick visits before. I think congrats are in order. Do you ever take anything over the counter when you are sick? Or just not take anything?
My husband gets whiny too when he is sick. The past month has been one of those months where everyone was sick. First him, then all three kids. I got lucky and didnt get sick. I am glad because I was always doing something for one of them. I hope you stay healthy.

Well my hubby had a sever anxiety attack Thursday night and an ambulance had to come to the house and get him. He doesn't have insurance either and he hates to go to the doctor, so he must have been bad off to call 911. Me and the kids were not there with him when it happened. Scary! Email me and I will tell you all about it.
