Boys and Dolls

My friend's son loves to play with dolls. Do you think that's a problem? I mean, a lot of people seem to think if you let boys do things like that, they'll either be really feminine or they'll be interested in men when they're older. I mean, he's pretty young, but he already seems to like pink things and dolls. Should I take them away -- or will he grow out of it?

Its nothing wrong for a boy to play with dolls. My son played with dolls too when he is younger at the age of 2-4. It doesn't mean that boy who played with dolls with be feminine or be interested in men when they grow up. My boy learn how to put on clothes, learn to loving, caring etc... throught playing of dolls and that doesn't make him sissy.

i gree too, my son also played with dolls and buggies, he even used to wear my shoes whilst playing these games. hes grown into a wonderful man, he has a girlfriend and has no interest in womens clothing. as lynn said, its helped him to become a loving, caring person and and how to put clothes on. i reckon he'll make a great dad one day.

Playing with dolls does NOT decide on which gender you find sexually attractive!!

Playing with dolls is perfectly fine for boys, just like playing with trucks is fine for girls. It is not about being 'feminine' it is about playing pretend. My husband played with dolls, and he is very masculine. My son plays with dolls sometimes, trucks sometimes, and both together sometimes. If he likes dolls, let him play with dolls, there's no harm in it. Read more here: http://www.helium.com/items/304105-the-value-of-playing-with-dolls-for-girls-and-boys

I say let him be, it's part of the growing process. Nothing wrong with it at all. Let the boy play. I will admit, I did and I turned out fine. I even have 4 girls of my own to prove it. Wait did that make me not have a boy? Yep that statement was just as silly as thinking a boy playing with dolls might make him look for men later in life.
