Anyone do Paper Crafting?

Quite a while ago, I created some special advertising posters using paper. It was for a health club and I made produce (lettuce, tomato, carrots, green pepper, etc.) "come right off the page." By using a heavy paper, I made the items look real, and the owner of the health club was delighted. I even made the letters stand off the page. I made a log cabin complete with the woodpile and an ax and a mouse peeking out behind the woodpile. I've made a clothesline, with the paper "clothes" hanging just as they would on a real clothesline. I've created leaves, and a few other things. Has anyone else ever done that, and/or are there any formal instruction books on this type of craft?
