I agree with you. The last place I would go would either be Iraq or Afghanistan. I would be too afraid of being blown up or with my luck the victim of friendly fire. For those of you unfamiliar with the term, friendly fire means being shot by your own countryman, in my case Americans. It always struck me as a weird term. What is friend about getting shot, no matter who does it?

I guess for me the last place i would ever think of going would be south-east asia. Poor places like indonesia or philippines. While many people go there because they are cheap, i prefer to pay more and have a quality holiday. Even if you have heard so much about Iraq from the media, do you think all you hear is true? The media sometimes only portrays what it wants to tell the world, and hides the good things, because they want to press a certain point. I guess i would say don't be put off just because someone says something about the place, better to do your own research on the place to find out if it is worth going to, or not. :)
