I would say in response to your question that No the handwriting habit can't or won
't displace it completly only because you can't take a keyboard everywhere, such as passing a note on the back of a business card.
I however see that my handwriting skills developed in the 3rd grade over 25 years ago has greatly sufferred because of the keyboard. But on a upbeat note I am able to process my ideas when I write letters or notes to myself for long term ideas much faster and cleaner as I can read typewritten script where I can't always read hand written script.

I think that if computers do displace handwriting it will be a very long time away. I can't imagine children in school being taught to use a keybord instead of actually picking up a pen and paper! If that happened we would see things like digital messages for notes on the fridge, electronic menus instead of chalk boards outside cafes and pubs and finally how would we produce our signature?

Its strange to think that the keyboard has almost wiped out the need for writing by hand, when some years ago everything wasw ritten by hand. Then many years before that handwriting was seen as an art ,and it was too,the wonderful copperplate that they used to do.But now all we do is tap away on a keyboard and soon im sure the most of handwriting will become a thing of the past.

There's emotional side of handwriting.
It won't be replaced by keyboard.
Which one will make you happy or sad: a letter from your lover or an email from your lover??
Sometimes I worry that human civilization will extinct, the trace, I mean.
Handwriting or written material is something historical, something that can't be manipulated by other means or anyone.
It contains history.
It contains emotion.
It is not merely contain information.
Handwriting evokes your emotion.

I think, it depends, its subjective. It will depend on the attitude and profession of the person. Having said this penmanship would certainly take the backseat if not be oblivion altogether.
Thanks.

I'm pretty certain it will be, when I was in school and I learned calligraphy... well it wasn't taught properly and it wasn't taught for very long so there was no interest in writing like that. All you have to do these days is type it out and then print it in perfect calligraphy.

well,i dont think so.But both of them are important to our life.
Handwriting is a good habit. When i'm sad ,i ofen write dowm my feelings on notebook while listening my favourite music. It make me relaxative. With the development of internet,we use keyboard anywhere,so it is difficulty to escape the computer. However,i will keep my handwrithing habit forever.
