The joker, played by Heath Ledger, is the darkest character in my opinion. Nothing else in the movie is close to him. It has a possibility to create nightmares depending on the child, but most kids love it. I don't think they'll focus on the minorly dark details. It's an AMAZING movie no matter what, it's definitely my favorite and I think you'd be rather pleased by it. It's also pretty clean.
Hope that helps!

You're very welcome. It's not often that I find a movie my whole family loves that makes you want to research everything about it because you're so obsessed with how well the movie were written and directed.
I'd love to know what you and your kids think about the film after you see it with them.
Have Fun!

I loved the movie but it might be too scary for young kids. My daughter is 12 and she liked it, I thought it was fine for her. My sister took my niece and my nephew who are 6 and 3, didn't give them nightmares but I think it might have been a little too much for them.

just walk outside at night and you will find a dark night. Hee Hee. I am sorry it was so tempting.
No, it will definitely NOT create nightmares. It was made for children, big and small. Enjoy. Let the kids enjoy. It is worth it!
