Here is the deal, my cousin lives in Beaverton OR and works at one of those high end photography studios (he has a photography degree from Oregon State Univ). They don't pay him much and its barley paying his bills so he put up a website to attract some freelance work. A few weeks ago his boss took him to the office and informed him that he had to take the site down or he would get fired. Its not a company site and its not directed to steal clients from him employer so he told his boss to kiss his a$$. He still works there so the boss was obviously bluffing but it seems weak to me that someone would even make that threat. What do you think?

I don't necessarily think that it is wrong to put up the website to try to gain some freelance work. You are right, with times being tough you can barely keep up with the bills these days.
No, I don't think that it seems fair that the boss would be behaving in this manner. If some extra money can be made on the side I think that it is alright as long as it is honest work.
