Regular exercise, increased fruit, vegetables and grain in the diet, avoiding excess fat and sugar as well as a positive outlook in life (never worrying too much) is all you need to get that cholesterol level down. If you can try to do it with a friend because everything can be done easier when you have someone to do it along with you.

Well you could try enrolling in a gym or if you don't want to then you'll just have to really stick to what you plan on doing. Good luck on your endeavors.

There are brands of margarine on the market that actively sink the cholesterol level in your blood. They are more expensive that the normal brands but they do work. I can't gve you brand names as they will be different from country to country. Check out the margarine section in you local supermarket.

Items that are a good source of soluble fiber, like oatmeal, are supposed to be good for lowering your cholesterol. My oatmeal container says that I should eat a serving every day. I do. I eat my oatmeal with peanut butter! Best wishes.

Some doctors are quick to prescribe medications for lowering cholesterol, and medication may be what some people need to overcome this problem. Maintaining a healthy diet and exercise plan probably would not hurt (and would produce many benefits), but sometimes if you inherit a genetic system from your parents that includes bad cholesterol, the medication may be needed to fight the condition.
Did your doctor have any helpful recommendations for what you should do?
