Ps2 CD

Hi folks. I have a small problem with one of my ps2 CD's... it doesnt work. I mean the game loads up but then it stops I dont even get to see the main menu... and the problem isnt from the ps2. when i looked up at the cd it had a nasty risk and i think that is where the problem come from... The problem is : I dont know what to do and the worst its my borrowed from a friend.´ Does anyone know any solution to solve the risk and make it work?... again... Thanks a lot for everyone's help xD.
