Your thoughts on the trade deadline. Manny going? Griffey to White Sox? Angels team to beat? Anything you got, write it here.

Saw that Griffey just got moved to the White Sox. Could work out but he may have to play DH more in order to keep him healthy. That's a shame too 'cause I thought he was pretty good but he kept getting hit with the injury bug. I don't think Manny is going anywhere. They'll probably keep him out of spite even though he wants to leave or so he says. The Angels could be the team to beat but right now it's still the Red Sox 'cause they won the World Series last year. Until they get knocked out of the postseason, it just wouldn't be right to say the Angels are the team to beat though they are really doing great. I hope they can do well.

Griffey to the White Sox is a good move for them. He will not play as much, but he will platoon with Konerko and Swisher in CF-1B. I think that the fact that the White Sox are contenders could refuel Griffey enough to play better, he is still batting .245 this year and that is low.

I've seen plenty of the White Sox. They are contenders yes and would still be regardless of the trade. I see that Griffey probably won't play much but that could work out for him health wise. Years ago it would have been great but injuries really hut him big time. Just saw that Manny got traded. I guess Boston decided to do so after all and he's going to be a Dodger. Looks like he's joining up with Joe Torre. Does that make them the favorite? Who knows.

They have good pitching, but I still think the Cubs are on a mission and right now are the favorite to represent the National League in the World Series.

Griffey to the white sox is probably enough for them to win that division which is huge for them because they have championship experience which you cannot buy. the angels look like the team to beat in the AL especially if boston trades manny. if manny goes to the marlins i truly think they are the team to beat in the nl, but hte nl itself its completely wide open.

The NL is wide open, and the AL gets tougher. Contenders in the AL: Rays, Red Sox, Yankees, White Sox, Twins, Angels. NL: Mets, Phillies, Marlins, Cubs, Brewers, Cardinals, Dimondbacks, Dodgers, Giants, Rockies, Padres.

I think the Teixeira move was a great move for the Angels. That gives them a little bit more of a power and rbi threat even though its not a hitting for average upgrade. I don't think Manny will go anywhere. It would probably be best for both Manny and the Red Sox if he does go but it will be hard to find a deal worth it.

I don't think I could have been more wrong with my earlier post. I think it will be a good move for the Red Sox. Manny wasn't playing up to his potential. Jason Bay is a lot younger too. I agree that the Dodgers droped a lot of farm system for one guy. I could see the Dodgers making the playoffs, but I don't know if they are enough of a contender to the World Series to make that trade worthwhile.

Getting Bay was a downgrade for the Red Sox, but at least he will try and run out grounders and play better defence. And they have put up similar numbers this year. As for LA, bad trade. Not worth emptying their entire farm for him.

I think it is the LA Dodgers that's going to benefit the soonest with the Manny Ramirez trade. With Manny, they are able to get a good hitter who may fuel their offense team and give them a higher chance in making it to the playoffs. Dodgers' manager Joe Torre hopes that Manny will deliver the same talent that he saw of Manny playing for the Red Sox while Torre was managing the New York Yankees. I noticed that Manny had mellowed a bit on his first appearance wearing the Dodgers uniform. He mentioned during the press conference that he loves his Boston fans and that he is ready to move on. I think his Boston fans have moved on as well; given the warm welcome they gave to Jason Bay on his first game.
