I have been selling on eBay since 2002. For the past 2 weeks, none of my new listings have appeared in any search. I was credited for last weeks listings, but I refused to accept a credit for this weeks listings until the problem is fixed. As of last night their techs are working on it. Is anyone else having a similar problem?

hi there stickergal.
i have been selling my action figure collection and a few other bits and pieces on ebay.co.uk over the last 4 weeks and i too have noticed the same thing you are mentioning, though i also make a habbit of frquenting the forums and i believe i know why this is happening.
ebay are wanting to get rid of the small hobby sellers so they are trying various tactics to smoke us out ( so to speak ), by ebay not putting our auctions in the full search we are loosing out on bidders this in turn means our items sell for less and that in turn leads us to thinking it's not worth selling on ebay any more, this would suit ebay down to the ground because then they would be free to do what they are wanting and turn themselves into a site which only has buy it nows on from business sellers.
I am planning to list the last lot of my stuff tomorrow night but if things don't sell as well as they should do i will not be listing anything again.

hi sticker.
Well as far as suggestions go i'm afraid i don't have any the only other place i have sold anything on is amazon though that has only been dvds and xbox 360 games which i have watched or played and then no longer want.
I used to run a business on ebay and also had my own web site about 2 years ago, i had 4 ebay accounts ( selling on all of them ) and i was making 700 sales a week combined for anywhere between £6 and £50, all my accounts made power seller status and it was a great place to sell, i subsequently closed my business after a year and didn't sell much on ebay since until recently which is how i have noticed so many damn changes in it, the other thing which is hitting the small hobby sellers is this damn feedback system, not allowing sellers to leave negative feedback has created a whole host of new problems for sellers the main one being buyers blackmailing seller into refunding for an item they have recieved just so the buyer will not leave negative feedback for the seller so the buyer gets goods and money and the seller gets shafted, i have read numerous threads about this going on and it is happening more and more.
There really doesn't seem to be any other reaosn why ebay would have done the things they have done unless they wanted rid of the small sellers but of course they are doing it slowly so that they still have revenue coming in from us where as if they just banned us all their revenue would plumit over night and they know it, so we have to bear the brunt of ebays transition into a new market and who knows how long it will take to complete ( if ever ).

I sure did have the same problem but they didn't offer me a refund, in fact I had relisted the dolls and low and behold they charged me again for the listing. It was then that I decided I would no longer sell on Ebay. My daughter is on facebook every day and I'll get her to sell my stuff for me on facebook.

Thank you for your comment. I just signed for facebook yesterday because I see it talked about so much on other sites. I am totally unfamiliar with their site and what they have to offer, and had no idea I could sell my items there. I will definitely look into it. I have been selling on Etsy, but my sales volume there is only a fraction of what it has been on eBay.
Thanks for the information.

My husband has Harley parts listed on Ebay motors so I'll have him check to make sure his listings are showing up. We've never encountered a problem like that as far as I know but, then again, I wonder if he ever searched to see if his stuff comes up? Thanks for the info!

Thanks for the response. I usually don't check the search feature to see if my listings have been posted, but I was out of state for a few days, and when I returned last week I had no notices of sales, and no questions from buyers. I always get some activity from my listings, so out of curiosity, I did a search. When I discovered my items weren't listed, I immediately contacted eBay through live chat. The person I spoke with tried unsuccessfully to locate my listings and gave me a credit for them.
This weeks listings also could not be found, so I contacted eBay once again through live chat. The idiot I spoke with told me to shorten the title and the listings would appear. I explained to him that I have been using the same title for all my listings for several years without any problems. His next suggestion was equally moronic. He finally offered to credit my account. I refused to accept his offer, and explained that I wanted a permanent solution to this problem. He then transferred me to ''Trust and Safety'' and they supposedly are working on fixing it. I don't know what trust and safety have to do with this type of problem, but as long as they can come up with a solution, I don't really care.
Thanks again.
