Have you brought your kids shool books yet?How much were they?My oldest sons books were $69 and my youngest are already $60 and I still have a few more to buy for him.I cant get over how much everything is going up these days. I hate to think of next week when I go to purchase uniforms because last year I paid almost $40 for 1 pair of school pants for my odest son.It is just ridiculous but there is little we can do.

My son is only going into the third grade. I do not have to buy him any books for school this year. I do not know when I will have to start buying books if I even will have to around here. The schools I went to growing up we never had to buy our own books. The school supplied them. We did have registration fees though. We don't have those here either.

It's definitely expensive! It seems more expensive on your side of the pond for school stuff as in our schools kids are given books and we have many shops that do school uniforms where pants are like £5 which is about $10! I guess I should be glad I haven't got kids yet! x

It has been a long time since we bought books for school for our sons, but back in the 80s, you could outfit one child with $120 and that was for books and clothes. So I can imagine what it would cost now and my sons did not go to private school so there was no uniforms. I guess that there is little one can do about the cost of school stuff as some of it you have to get new.

I am responding to your discussion, although my four year old son is not quite of school age yet. I can imagine in a couple of years the prices will climb even worse. What an economy we are in! I am not surprised to hear of how much school supplies and the like are costing these days. The uniforms are expensive as well. How are people supposed to get by now a days especially with the gas prices. Good Luck my friend.
