I watched the numbers S.L.O.W.L.Y. increase since last night...it's 6:03 PM EST here in New Jersey and have only seen a few new members since last evening. I remember when there were fewer then 60,000 of us! This is the first time that I really paid attention, and figured hey, they need some of us veterans to lend a helping hand! 
I'm starting the Welcome Wagon now...let's see members new and old stop by and join me in welcoming our newest members!

Hey everyone, I'm new to Mylot. Just joined I think, about an hour or so ago. Took me forever to fill out that interests thing... :/

Welcome Dreadniah to the magic of the lot! And sorry, but have to laugh at the time you spent on your interests.
lol You'll find that nearly every time you answer a discussion a page will come up asking if you want to add that interest! LOL MUCH faster way to build your interest list. But hey - good on you for going the extra mile right away. You'll be a welcome addition to the lot for sure!

much as I do and I have been here about five months now. remember not to do one line responses and discussions. keep them to five or six lines of intelligentprose. and make your title interesting and catchy to catch someones eyes. ch

Thanks Hatley for responding! You've given a lot of great tips here; I wish someone had done that for me when I was a newbie! Of course back then, it was also extremely easy to make payout (I did it in 3 weeks). A lot of discussions were silly: What is your favorite color? or What color are your eyes?; fortunately, myLot has grown up a LOT since then!

I try to welcome new members too, but it was easier to just do it in a discussion. Check out the nifty Welcome Center I posted in my response to dissy just above...I wrote a little blurb when uploading. Basically it says it's a great little place where EVERYONE is welcome to stop by, rest a spell and have a cool drink. Think p1key will want to open a brothel stand?

I saw! Too cute. I wonder if you could make that the 'avatar' for an interest group for newbies to find when they first joined to get a welcome and a howdy from folks? That'd be cool.
As for P1ke - oh yeah! And won't THAT scare off some newbies? ROFL
