Me and my clothes!

My wife and I have different views when it comes to getting dressed, I am the clothing freak and she is a pick it, up-put it on, I don't care type. I have to like what I am wearing in order for me to leave the house, I have a Yankees hat for just about every outfit I wear and my colors have to be blending, where as she will put it on looking like a flag. We have two closets in our room and I still have to use some of her space, but when you look in her closet you can hear an echo because it is so bare. Can anyone tell me what is wrong with a man wanting to look sharp everyday? When is too much clothes too much?

You may be in the minority (and you know I didn't mean it THAT way), but that doesn't mean it's wrong.
As long as it's not an issue where you have trouble choosing between buying more clothes and feeding your family, I don't see a problem!

Let's see, buying more new clothes or feeding the family, I will have to get back to you on that after breakfast. LOL. Of course my familys needs come first and I have enough clothes to dress in a different outfit everyday for the next 3 months, but with designers coming out with new lines I do spend my share. If I took all the money I spent on clothes just this year alone I could maybe put a down payment on a new car.

If your family's needs are met and that is your 'vice', then what's the big deal?
Now if you're spending that much on clothes and you also have a Hummer, motorcycle, boat, spend happy hour with the boys after work every day and your kids are dressed with patches on their knees and the wife is struggling with the grocery budget, then I think you need to step back and regroup.

My husband and I have different views when it comes to clothes too, but he's the one that doesn't care what he wears, as long as its clean..lol. I'm the one that has to make sure I match, and that I don't look funny. Usually its the other way around, you don't hear of many men that care what they wear, or that they have more clothes than their wife does. I'm the one that took up the space in the closet, actually he don't hardly have any space..lol. I don't see anything wrong with a man wanting to look sharp. Sometimes I wished my husband would care a little bit..lol.

Nothing is wrong with wanting to dress right and look nice. I will say though that your situation is the opposite to what you normally see in people cause narmally it is the man who is the one who doesn't care how thier clothes look or go together. I have seen people that I just really want to take and redress though. I can't stand to see an outfit that clearly has some aesthetic issues. I am real particular about how my clothes go together. I cannot wear certain things cause it disturbs my aesthetic senses.

I think one of the reasons I am so into my clothes is because I can remember growing up back in Jersey many years ago when I had nothing and at times had to put cardboard in my shoes to cover the holes, or when things got so bad that me and my brothers had to share clothes because my mom could't afford to buy us outfits for school.

There is nothing wrong with either gender wanting to look sharp when they are dressed. Her choice of clothing can't be too bad, she was attractive to you once and you liked her enough to marry her
If she is happy with her amount of clothes purchases and you are happy with yours, then you don't have too much clothing!
