You might want to try a teqhnique that changes with time, but you start out by NOT writing a book - write scenes, character sketches, even location maps for settings.
Every now and then, go through it all and things will start to come together. You can take these fragments and put them in whatever order you wish, and that will be the skeleton of the book. You'll just need to flesh it out to get the book done. Even if a nicely turned phrase cmes to you, put it with the rest of the fragments. You never knowwhat might be added to what. Sometimes, writers discover they have a few books in there, or a series. And I won't even charge you the tuition for the class!
Good luck!

Hi dad2spots,
Just leave the writing for a while and sit quietly and think of what ever you want and then try to get back to the book, that might help good luck in your writing.
