I think it all depends on what type of debt you have. If it's only credit card debt, there are a few suggestions.
1. Call ALL your credit card companies and try to get lower rates. Even one or two percent lower will help.
2. Pay more than the minimum each month if possible. If not, pay the minimum for all except the highest APR until that's paid off. Then cut that card up and pay off the next highest APR card!
3. Try cutting back on other expenses. Try buying cheaper food products, carpooling, making several drives at once (such as going on an errand to the grocery store and post office near your work after you get off rather than going on a day you're not scheduled to work) ... things like that, and then put a few dollars extra into a savings account or put that extra money towards your debt.
There are so many ways.
Also, try getting as many free samples from websites as you can. They are free and usually come with coupons, so you are saving a little money in two ways right there...
If possible, get a part-time job somewhere for some extra income. It might take a lot of sacrifice, but for a few months you will catch up majorly on your debt!
Stop going out to eat. Buy in bulk and pack your lunches. Sacrifice a bit and eat cheap meals for a few months to give you more of a budget to work on for your debt. These are just a few ideas.
There are lots of ways to reduce your debt. It may take a few months and some MAJOR dedication, but it's necessary and will make life easier once you are past it. I'm sure if you did a search you could find some other ways.
