What urges you to persist in acting as a volunteer?

Being used for a good deed is a very easy thing , being used for good deed for a lifetime is very difficult . Many people start their volunteering at random .After 3-4 times , they maybe quit . That makes the volunteer group embarrass , and the people served are difficult to dependent on . If you are a volunteer , how you persist in acting ?

I volunteer every monday with RSPCA, I help the Animal Care assistants with whatever they need help with, I walk the dogs, play with them in the yard, socialise with the cats/puppies to get them used to being around people and not being lonley, Clean out cages/kennels etc, Feed the animals..etc etc.. Whatever needs more help that day I will help with. I think it is very rewarding, the only reason I only go on monday is because of the bus fare I am unemployed and I do not drive, so it costs me £4.50 each day on buses. I would go every day money permitted. I have always wanted to work with animals or computers but since leaving school I followed the computer route at college and never really followed up on the animal route. And was thinking of ways to get in to it without going back to college and volunteering is the perfect way. I started in January and went abotu 3 times a week for a few months, then I got a job and tried to go once a week, and now I am unemployed again I go every monday.
