Yes, when my fiance and I first started dating I would pay for him not only for food (That as a gentlemen he refused) but also gas (that he refused). I don't think there is anything wrong with letting the lady pay but I do respect and understand that traditions were set forth and that it's still very much accepted that a man pays for everything.
Maybe we can go back to that, if prices of things go down, but alas, it may be a while before we see that. I appreciate the discussion and am hoping your having a wonderfully lovely day! Welcome to mylot as well, and I hope you have fun here!

We're married now, but when we were dating he always paid for everything, he wouldn't let me pay for nothing, he's the same way now, I still don't have to pay for anything, unless I'm by myself then I do, and thats when I miss him..I say he was raised right..lol.

Sure. We take turns. I see nothing wrong with doing that. I am not that old fashioned. Maybe if he were rich LOL!!

i only have one boyfriend.
we have been together for 2 years.
some times he has money.
some times i have money.
i feel it all evens out in the end.
some times we just cook for each other.
i don't think there is anything wrong with a girl paying
unless
it's all, or most, of the time.
then i would begin to wonder what my boyfriend would be thinking?
is he employed? a student ?
taking advantage of me? free ride?

Back in the day (LOL) I didn't mind paying for a date because I thought I was making good money at the time. I didnt mind showing off the fact that I could take care of myself and I didn't need a man to pay for anything. Now I'm married and I see things a little differently. Before we got married though he refused tolet me pay for anything. I think that was really sweet and respectable of him. Maybe that's one reason we're married. HMMMM......
