Having problems with synchronizing motorola v3x with pc, anybody, help?

I have this v3x working fine with synchronization on my pc using the motorola phone tools but lately when I installed the software again after reformatting my drive, the phone tools cannot read the contents of the phone and/or synchronization takes forever. What must be the problem?

try removing the battery of your phone. sometimes all it needs is just a hard reset. if this doesn't work make sure all the drivers on your computer are installed. i think your using a usb cable to synchronize your phone to your pc right? if that's the case maybe the usb driver on your computer is not yet installed. hope this help:)-NEIL™

Thanks for the advice. I uninstalled the usb driver for sony digicam as it may be having some conflict then I uninstalled/installed the motorola phone tools again, intalled updates and I was able to access the phone's contacts. After that, I installed the sony usb driver again and there was no problems encountered again. Thanks! :)
