Help! I eat too much...

It happens when I am reviewing for an exam, or just plain studying, when I am at work in front of the computer; when I am in the kitchen, sometimes even when I am going around the house. There always seems to be something to eat, and I always find myself munching on something. And then of course at mealtimes I find myself going back for second helpings. But I heard from somewhere that we need to reduce carbohydrates, fats, etc.
How do you keep yourself from eating all the time, or overeating? Any easy tips?

Just pop up a mint and take a walk, listen to music, sing.Start a rule that you'll eat only when sitting at the dinner table.nut, seeds, hard boiled egg,air popped popcorn, raw vegetables and fruits are smart snacks you can make it right don;t push your self to it,ease yourself, give it a couple of extra time and start smart.wish you all the best!keep fit and cheers...

hi there polaris714? i think your worries were just the same with mine few months back. i ate so much that i couldn't help it. but now, i still am eating much but i am more with the healthy ones. there is no big deal if you are eating all the time for as long as you're eating the right food. start your diet diary with fruits. fruits are high in fiber that help in promoting digestion thereby food will not pool on your bowel a long time. nuts and seeds help as well as eating fish because they have DHA, omega 3 that is good for the heart. instead of drinking chocolate, cola or other carbonated drinks, try fresh fruit juices too. milk can be taken but go for the non fat ones. make sure to avoid a lot of processed foods, meat products and preparations. you can have pasta but make sure the noodle comes from plant source instead of flour. avoid cakes, ice creams and other sweets. that's all i can share because it already worked for me to trim down some weights.

Actually lots of small meals are better for you than three big ones. If you always find yourself eating junk food replace it with something heathy, your favorite fruit or vegatable, or drink more water, it will make you feel fuller but still eat though. If you have an oral fixation (like myself) start chewing gum.

Thank you for the advice. By the common standard of 8 glasses of water per day, I fall far short. You know, sometimes when I try to complete the 8 glasses (even when not drinking in 1 sitting), I feel like I am drowning. But thanks for the tip. Happy mylotting.

There is a method turely efficient. Many pop star and actress eat anything they like at any time, but the only difference is they spit the food out after they chaw.I think we can not do this, lol. so I advise you spend more time to do other things which can attract your attention ,do more exercise to keep fit.I can not withstand the come-on of deliciouse food, and I am planing to buy a necklace with my favorite sigger's photo in it to prevent me far form food.

Banana sounds good. Also other fruits, I love them. Will do that. Thanks and take care. I'm sure you look really good with that well-maintained figure. Take care.

Isn't that a pity to waste the food? I can't imagine myself spitting out the food after I chew, unless it's spoiled or tastes awful or something like that. But thank you for your advice. Your tip sounds good - I wonder whose photo I could keeo on a necklace to keep me from food. Hmmm, let me think...Happy mylotting to you

I saw this method on tv.I think it is a kind of waste,so I never do that. And I often eat fruit instead of those have high calorie.Banana is a good choice to make you feel full and nut can make you eat littler because it is hard to get them out of the nutshell.

Control my desire to eat? Unthinkable! LOL :) But maybe if you want something bad enough you'd do anything to get it. We'll see. Thanks for the tip and happy mylotting

You really are lucky! My mother tells me that when I was a toddler I was really picky and very hard to feed. But by the time I came to my teens I was a voracious eater, wolfing down everything in sight (was I making up for it?). I didn't put on weight until recently, maybe because I am tied to an office chair and can barely move during the entire workday. So now, you can guess...I guess its a matter of getting up every now and then, and of course eating the right food...

Wow, it's a usual habit. Everytime we see a nice food or snack, we will want to eat it. Now, it's became your usual habit for along time. I think you must do more activity outside your house, maybe going to your friend house, or sitting on the park, or another else.
antoher way is keep all your food in one place, that you never walk cross to it in your home. In your mind try not buying snack or another food to home.
The important thing is you must say to yourself not to eat and control it. i think it's the best way. Like we have hear, "no one can help you, you must help by yourself".

Though it didn't happen to me,but I think it's a problem of your mind. The most reason you do that is because you feel boring and have nothing really interested you to do. Just take a break when you feel you want something to eat.
