Water waste

When i get our filtered water from a water supplier here in the countryside, there is a hose running a beautiful fountain of crisp water right unto the pavement, down the gutter, and then into a dark drain. When i asked why this is, the reaction I got is that it is a rejected water. How strange to think that such clear is rejected. Water is not reused in other ways like wattering plants and flushing the toilets.
Did you ever wonder how old our water actually is?
Now just think about what that means when it flows through your hands, how much this liquid has moved about on this sphere of ours, what stories it could tell of love, life, war, frost, rain, abuse and joy, all at once.

In our area we have restrictions, we can only water our lawns on alternate days and wash cars certain days. And we can only water early in the morning or later in the day, not in thre hottest part of the day or it will evaporate too quickly. People get fined if they are overly wasteful.

I believe water should not be wasted in whatever circumstances. I just wonder why there are so many unconcerned folks around who will not mind even if they see water flowing freely and wasted. Water is a very valuable matter and without it we cannot survive in this world so maybe every one should take extra attention on how they treat the water and what they are doing to conserve this precious thing.
