i have ask before about my start up programs(that start up with my computer)and to go to the task manager to see what was coming up when my computer did) and i am not that good with that kind of stuff honestly and i was just wondering where you would go to find the task manager at and is it hard to tell what is running with the computer when it starts up and if i see something on there that i don't want to run while the computer is up how do i turn it off so that it is no longer running with the computer? thanks for taking the time to look at my discussion! i hope that you all have a great night!

Programs that start automatically on starup are placed in the :-
- Startup folder in startmenu.
- They can also be removed from the Msconfig tool ( start - Run- msconfig - startup )..
- You can also stop unwanted windows services from loading at startup in msconfig...
So removing the entries from msconfig and startup folder.. will boot your os faster...
Task manager can be opened by
- Rightcliking on taskbar and then taskmanager.. or
- start - run - taskmgr.... or
- pressing CTRL + ALT + DEL...
Unwanted processes can be stopped from processes tab of taskmanager...
Windows services can be stopped from services tool... ( start - Run - services.msc )
Hope you understood what i said..

Hi ok what i got from that is that you want to see the "programs" running upon startup. these programs are called processes and that is a tab under the task manager. to open task manager just press ctrl+alt+delete. be very careful what you turn off though because if you turned off explorer.exe or something like that you would have to run your computer without it and that is very hard because it doesnt work.

Hiya.. you should probably use msconfig.exe....
If you go to Start. Run and type in msconfig it should open a new window, that MS Config is the system configuration utility, you can choose the tab called startup, if you are not familiar with your processes I would Hide all microsfot processes (you can check that off)
Look for AOL , YAhoo, AIM, MSG, anything like that you can uncheck... you do not need them to load at start up.
Hope this helps!
