I really like classical music, and I do hear it before I sleep. I generally prefer the instrumental music. When there is good music, voice doesn't matters.

I am personally in favor of instrumental. But I think I am a little bias on this since i have been playing the oboe for the past 17 years, and I have no ability to sing. So my ear is better trained for instrumental music.
Do you have a preference

Music is wonderful whenever it is rendered wonderfully. I can appreciate instruments and voice when these are performed by great artists. Cheers!!

Well, which way to vote? That is the question.
I sing in a classical style and whenever possible operatic pieces. The most challenging solo I sang was Mozart's Allelulia! And, yes, I did hit the high C and was not flat or sharp or shrill with it. Took a lot of practice.
I cannot listen to classical music at bedtime because there are so many nuances in all of it, so many instruments playing off of each other, so many textures, tempos, crescendos and decrescdendos. I love the complexity of such music. It encourages brain activity. Classical muscal is the most interesting genre. My husband loves country/western music, but I see this type as having the same beat and volume all the way through. I do like to play it backwards, however, as you get your job back, your dog back, your wife back, etc.
So, it is a tie with me as to vocal or instrumental. God blesses us with some marvelous composers still and wonderful artists to interpret it.
