How often do you rate with positive (+) on someone's post ?

Yep, I do rate (+) quite a bit. I make it a point to rate responses that are clear, well-thought-out and logical with a (+). Any response that looked like it had some research put into it or otherwise required a lot of effort deserves a (+) as well. I don't like to rate based on my opinions, as the quality of the post matters more than something subjective. I only give (-)s for spammy-centric posts that don't add a lot to the discussion. One-liners (or one-worders) that don't elaborate are prime candidates.

When I don't feel like answering discussions, what I do is read posts of other people and start rating them. If I find that the post had sense with the topic, I give a positive rating.If I see that the answer was not done nicely, I give a negative rating.

Depends, torchablazed, when the post has particularly moved me I mark it as positive. I do not do it too very often but reserve that action for very special postings.

I do it every day because I rate every discussion I take part in, or even if I don't respond to it myself I will give a positive rating to a good topic and to nice responses. I rate all the responses to my own discussions because I appreciate it whenever someone responds. I leave some posts unrated if they are very short or if I can't understand what they say. Yes it's a nice feeling to be able to give a good rating to other people.

I rate every responses to my discussions positive. And I rate all discussions I respond to positive. That is how I show my appreciation for their effort of answering. And that is how I show how I like the discussion. Have a nice day!

when i respond to someone's discussion i rate it postivie. i also rate the users who have responded to my discusssion with +.i never rate anyone -.

I don't really know. I just give that thing whenever i feel like giving it. My emotions are the basis of my rating actions. But of course, before rating any post, I would take a glimpse at the post first.

I usually give positive ratings when the response or discussion is extremely good or when I find it very useful. From my experience here, I find that many of the responces are either the same as what I have read before in other discussions or the responses are what I had expected and so I seldom rate them.

torch hi I rate everyone positive unless they have made an insulting response then I just do not rate them. but usually I rate everyone positive.My basis I enjoyed their discussion or their response or I thought that their sentences were really very intelligent even if I might not agree with them.I always feel great when I rate someone positive

I rate everybody positive - even people who have a different view from me! Life would be boring if we all had the same opinion, and I'm open to everyone's point of view. The only time I'd rate someone negatively is if they were rude, abusive or racist. Or maybe I'd just not rate them at all ...

I give a positive rating to every discussion that I choose to respond to. After that, I read the responses and comments. If I found a response or comment to be helpful to the discussion, then I will mark it as positive. I do it often since rating a comment or response is also part of participation here in myLot and I think it also affect the reputation of the one who is giving a rating.

I go through the responses to my discussions after a couple of days when people have stopped responding and then i rate them! i give most of them a positive rating, as generally people are nice when answering discussions, if somebody wrote something mean or made a nasty comment i would give them a negative rating! i haven't done this yet though! i think it's nice when people take the time to respond to my discussions! xx

I rate postitive to all good quality posts i receive on my discussions and all good discussions that i respond to. I like appreciating other's work, if it is deserved.

torchblazed I always make sure to rate positive to all the responses I get to my posts. I never rate negative. But I remember reporting someone when he was being terrible gross with racialism. This is a fun place , let's enjoy every bit we are here. Happy mylotting. [b][/b]

I do not do that everyday but I think I should be doing it more often.

I don't do it every day, normally I forget all about the rating link. But, usually I try to rate posts that I think will generate a great discussion among the mylotters

hello friend, i rate all the responses who respond on my discussions with positive feedback and i will rate the postive feedback to the discussion i respond.I think it is a good way to take part in the commmunication.I never rate a negative feedback to some one else.I think we should be friendly to others even though we received a bad response from them,i think every one has the right to answer. right? If i think it is not a good one, i will not rate it.But fortunately, all responses to me are good. i am happy with this result.lol good luck to you

I'm new to Mylot so i don't understand what benefit the Positive and Negative Ratings prove... Are they for filtering out Spammers? or is it just for if you like a response or discussion someone has made?
