My son was on my computer one day and then the touch pad on my laptop stopped working. So, I had to go out and buy one to do anything with it.
I reinstalled the toushpad and now sometimes my keyboard will just stop typing and freeze up. The touchpad sometimes will go out and the keyboard will go out also.
Now this doesn't happen all of the time, but I would be typing out an email and then it will just stop working, or I can be typing and the the touchpad will go out and I can't get it back up for sometime and I have to plug in the mouse I bought.
HELP, it is driving me batty.
What can be wrong with my laptop and how can I fix it? I have run my anti-virus and my Spybot and nothing really comes up.
THanks so much for taking time to read this and trying to help me.

I Think you should try re-installing the drivers for your keyboard and touch pad.the drivers are on the disk supplied to you by the company you purchased your laptop from.if this does not work you need to get in touch with the customer care department of your laptop and show it to their engineer

The problem that I have is that I didn't get any disks when I bought my computer. I bought it used from Staples right when the XP was being cycled out.
I did go onto Microsoft to reinstall the touchpad and it didn't help. My son doesn't even know what he did to it. He said that it just stopped working.

Try to backup your laptop and format it. That would be the ultimate solution for problems like that aside from restarting. If it still doesn't fix it, you have to go to your manufacturer customer's service for checking and assessment of damage
