Frustrated with Xbox 360 RROD?

I've had my xbox 360 for almost 2 years now and just two weeks ago i got the dreaded red rings of death. At first i wasn't too worried with it because i simply put it off and on again and it started working. Three days later i was about to start a game of gears of war to be greeted by the three lights again. I tried putting it on and off once again but it failed to work, and continues to not work today. I am currently waiting on my orders from amazon so i can fix it. Has anyone had the same problem, and how was it fixed?
