is there a particular format in writing a novel?

i am an aspiring novelist and i was wondering if there is a format in writing a novel.

I don't get it. Do you mean format or style?? There's no standard for writing a novel. Just write. One thing for sure, novel must contains characters, plot, theme, setting, etc, that's for sure.

i've never heard of a specific format of writing a novel.all i know is that each writers have their own style of writing and it can seen be when we compare different novels...anyhow,wait for the other viewers to post their comments on this issue...

there are computer programs out there thet will help you i cant think of any names at the moment but i am sure thet if to look you can find one
