Do you believe that if you die in your dreams that you die in real life?

I used to believe this. I thought that's why when having a nightmare about falling or crashing or being shot or something like that, I would wake up before I finished the fall or before impact or before the bullet actually hit me. But quite some years ago, I dreamt I was a victim of a drive by shooting that actually killed me. I saw my soul separate from my body. I thought I was still alive and went in the house. I couldn't understand why everyone was crying until I tried to touch my boyfriend and walked right thru him. Suddenly I realized I was dead. When I woke from the dream, I was very shaken, but I realized that thinking that if you die in your dreams you die for real was just a myth. What about you? What do you think about this? Have you ever dreamed you died?

cbreeze I alsways used to believe that but like you I once Had a dream where I was the victum of a shooting. As I look back the dream was really pretty entertaining but when I was shot there there was blackness no pain no fear a velvet softness familiar as safe. And then I woke up and like you I realized that no you do not die just because you die in your dreams. It has been years now and I do still remember that dream just like it was last night

I dreamed once that I was in a car accident and the car was on fire and I could not get out of the car.I woke up and was I glad that it was only a dream. I was so shaken up I could not go back to sleep. I hate dreams like that.

yes and no, when ur sleeping ur mind shuts down some of the regin of the brain tht arent need, plus ur heart rate slows along with ur breathing. its possible cuz ur mind can determin whts real and whts not. if u have control over ur dreams anything is possible. if u belive tht dieing in ur dreams can happen then ur mind will make it more possible for it to happen. i've dream i die but i woke up fine, i think tht it depends no how u die and u have the dream end there. most of my dreams where i die i was a spirit and i could see my body.

hi there,i did not dream about i die but most of my dreams are become true like someone invited me or like talking this person or have arguing with my husband yes it becomes reality. but the one you mean so far no experience it.

I can't remember any of my dreams. I often wake up feeling exhausted, I know that I have dreams while I was asleep, seems like a lot has happened, like I've never slept, but I just can't remember any of the details, neither the characters/ people involved in my dreams, nor the situation that I'm in.
Some of my friends even told me that their dreams continued like a series, the following night from where it last stopped. And some even told me that their dreams have colour, while others told me that it was black & white.
Even with all the advance science & technology, dreams remain a mystery till this very day!

Yes,maybe that's why we wake up in nightmare or why we become the last person in dream who have faced real dangerous.
