the only time i have ever done it is if piercins have closed up because the jewellery has been out too long (but only by a matter of days) i would never recomend doing it yourself from scratch, much better to go to a professional and have it done in a clean and sterile environment

Why, yes. i have. i have 14 holes in my ears, only the first 4 were done by a "professional". Frankly it hurts a whole lot less when you do it yourself. i've also pierced my own nose, twice. Now for my other piercings i did go to a piercing specialist. There are some spots i wouldn't want to take a chance and screw up.:)

Wow!That's a whole lotta piercings but I'm pretty sure you have more parts to spare.I've pierced my ears before but I did only 4.Most of the time, I am the "piercer" for friends.Thanks for your response! :)

I have never pierced my own ears - I can hardly handle putting earrings in my already pierced ears, much less the thought of actually piercing them myself!

wow i've never pierced my own ears, i doubt i will, waaay too scary ahaha. i have 2 piercings on each ear done at a jewelry store. i dont think i have the guts to do it myself!

It sure is scary when you have to do it yourself.Tolerance varies on people.Some can take pain, some can't.Don't worry! If the thought of it scares you, I'm sure many would share your sentiment.So, here's a positive rating for you!

I have tried to once because I left my earings out for too long and one of the wholes closed up on me. So I took some Ice, froze my ear, Heated up a pin and started to push. Even though my ear was numb, It still hurt like hell so I stopped and went and paid for it to be done professionally. I also peirced my own lip which surprisingly didn't hurt as much as the ear did. I had it pierced for 3 days and it got horribly infected. It swelled all up and turned green!!! ewww. I took out the lipring and let it heal and now I will never try to pierce anything by myself again!

Thanks for your post! A positive rating for you!It really is painful when it gets infected.The ear has many nerve endings and it is more vascular so blood tends to ooze.My friends had me pierce their ears and they love it cause it's free.Some people tend to be allergic so a little caution is needed.I remember having to pierce a friend's lip too and it saved him some $30 so he was happy.
