Quitting Smoking

I'm basically in my second hour of the first day in my new and improved life. I've tried to quit many times but with my husband still smoking, it made it impossible. Now, we are both trying to quit at the same time. He is using the patch, I am going cold turkey. My question is... how have YOU been successful? I'm thinking of doing updates on here, successful or not, and hopefully it can and will help people in the future.

I've never tried to quit but I did read somewhere that the urge for a smoke lasts for about 15 minutes and then goes away so, if you can hang on for that long, you'll feel better afterwards. Good luck!!

welldone you!! i've tried to give up a couple of times and failed :( i've tried patches, gum and lozenges. i'm too stressed at the moment to give it my best shot, but as soon as i feel strong enough to think i could succeed i'm going to try again. we have new tablets available here in uk from the gp, which supress the nicotine craving, which a few of my friends have been successful with, so i'm going to give them a go. i don't have the will power to go cold turkey. wish you success.
