It could have been worse..............................much worse!

Yesterday evening at 6 pm my 13 year old had a baseball game. My mother's friend was dropping us off however my 12 year old couldn't fit in the car. I told my 12 year old that I get out but he said that he would ride his bike. Okay, so we left, now while going to the Hutch (that's the name of the baseball field), all I kept saying to myself was that I should have gotten out of the car but I also thought his friend was going to ride his bike with him. As soon as I sat down at the field I received a call from a woman who works with my brother saying that my son had a little accident. I was so nervous! I had to hurry to this woman's car to see the condition of my son. When I arrived and looked into the car, all I saw was blood at different areas of his body (mainly his elbows and knees, but also an open wound on right side of his stomach). He was crying and I wanted to cry right along with him. What happened was while he was riding his bike, he hit a bump in the road which caused the accident. He had on no helmet and I learned while at the emergency room that the bike had no brakes. This is why I said it could have been worse. The husband and wife team who took care of my son are angels from heaven and I am so glad that they were there and that the wife (her name is Judy) recognized my son. There were other people around trying to help him but he was so scared to the point where he didn't talk. There were no broken bones however but he did bang hisself up pretty bad. To God be the glory and praise because it could have been worse. Take care and God Bless!

Praise the Lord he was only banged up a little bit! I hope he has a swift recovery and has a helmet in his future. I will keep him in my prayers tonight. Have a good day!

That is horrible that your son was in an accident. Don't beat yourself up about it. He is old enough to ride his bike and it is something that just happened. Luckily he did have two angels there to help him threw. 12 yr old boys bounce back really quickly, so he will be better in no time.

hi linda I am so glad that your son wasnt hurt any worse. How frightening that must have been for you you are so right he could have been badly injured or worse.God was definitely looking out for your son that day.I am glad also that you had this excellent husband and wife doctor'team that cared for your son. He will surely have to get a' helmet before he rides a bike again and get his brakes fixed too. again thank heaven he was not badly injured. Good luck to you and yours hugs from hatley.
