Do these make anybody paranoid??

So I admit, I was a pill addict for recreational use. (Don't worry, all better!!) But I noticed something weird in particular about these. They made me REALLY paranoid. I took two, and while my boyfriend was driving us to his house (it's a pretty dark, woodsy, creepy looking road, but I've been down it several times before and it never bothered me) I started CRYING repeating "I'm scared I'm scared", and if ANYTHING took me by surprise I'd scream and start crying. My dentist is giving me some of tehse for dental surgery, but I'm thinking about asking him for some different ones?? If taken correctly, when needed, is that jsut a side effect to these?? Or maybe it's reacting with some medication I'm already taking??
