Okay so a lot of users are angry at mylot, but why? because
they refuse to read the rules. They do a zillion responses'
and discussions yet say they make only forty cents.
Over and over this discussion comes up and yet nobody
seems to learn from it. mylotters what can we older users'
do to help newbies learn quality not quantity does it?

Hi Hatley,
I am wondering also if they were able to bump post which advises newbies about the common error or mistake here such as one-liner and talking about how much they earn in a day...I am sure they don't pay attention really and what they want is just to post and post even if they are aware it is against the policy and even if maybe they are aware it is a very common post!

It is kind of like raising kids, Hatley. You tell them over and over again, then one day they get it. Sometimes I think people read Make Money on line by doing the things you always do. Chat, send messages, e-mail and make big money, and that is where the reading stops. Just sign up and start making money. *Shrugs*
I think there are two choices here. Keep repeating yourself, or let them figure it out on their own. Those who choose to listen will, those who are here for the money alone will give up and go somewhere else.
I don't mean that to sound like I don't care, or that I don't want to help, really. I just think there should be some kind of system set in place that makes it mandatory to read the rules and guidelines before you get to the signing in part.

Now it seems that it isn't just new users, but users who have been here a while and have forgotten the rules. The first thing they need to remember is that mylot actually tells us not to start discussions about the issues we have with the admin.! They ask that we contact them directly. I realize sometimes mylot takes forever and a day to answer, but when they post the discussions, they just get deleted anyway. So when the users start discussions about being angry with mylot, I usually just pass it over. It will get deleted anyway. Something else to be mad about.

You're right about that Ambie!
Mylot is really strict about getting
outed in public.
They don't like it.
About a month ago there were a big bunch
of rant discussions posted about people
not being happy with Mylot over one thing
or another.
Usually the discussion involved a gripe with
another member.
And all of the discussions got deleted along
with the members who posted the discussions!
Mylot does not fool around when it comes
to rule breakers.
Posting your woes with Mylot admin is a big no-no!
Thanks for reminding us all!

yes i think we all should go over the rules and guidelines'
every so often new and old users alike so we won't be
crying that we have been mistreated and our discussions
deleted.

I dont think theres anything we can do if they dont want to listen to us then thats there fault. A lot of people dont realise that the longer the post the more money you get. I see a lot of people making 1 sentence post and there the ones complaing that they dont make enough money. I tried telling people that if your post are long then youll make a lot more money.

I think alot of people come to this site thinking they can make alot of money. Well, just like anything else it pays, but you have to put some time and effort into it. They aren't just going to hand it to you on a silver platter, now are they? Its a social network with the additional bonus of earning while you are interacting with others. Be glad for what you get, no matter how frugal it might seem. I don't know anywhere else you can get paid anything at all for making friends and being a friend.

hi kb and mylot actually pays and pays on time, they should'
be really grateful, I have been on other survey sites where
'all you get is acome on , and never have qualified for any
of their surveys. here you are paid for your effort and also for having so much fun with all your mylot friends too. and so'
many times a suggestion from a friend has made a difference
'to me.

it obviously does no good. im new and i read what the experienced mylotters say. and some do, but some dont in their insistance of thinking they can make a mint. some dont realise you dont get rich on these online money things. you just make a little while you have fun.

When I first started, I did not have many friends, and I could only answer a few discussions and started one or two. I did not make that many because I did not always check the plus sign or the minus for that matter. The rule is do not start fluff discussions. For instance, a fluff discussion would be "do you rinse your hair after shampooing." A non-fluff discussion would be "I have dandruff. Would you advise me to rinse in once or twice after shampooing." Quality counts. It is better to write one post with four or more lines than write several of two or three or even one line.
I do not think they will learn unless they realize that myLot does not reward one liners.

You just need to use your head more than something to put between your shoulders. But I guess many newcomers do not think that way. The trouble is many of their 'discussions' go on the myLot digest and if I did not go to the myLot home page and pick out the discussions I would think that myLot is for the unintelligent and the mundane.

I've written a couple of tutorials about myLot and I direct them to my profile to read them.
I have more to write and I need to get off my butt and do that.

just what is needed,if only they will just read them.
its just as easy to post something wor thwhile as it isto post something very trivial and not appealing to other mylotters.

I am not sure what we can do except for go to discussions with this content and advise the new comer on the rules and regulations of mylot. I am not sure why people do not read the rules because I believe that that is one of the screens that pop up when you do become a member here. It would be so much easier to mylot here if better contented discussions were available instead of a thousand of the "how much did you make" discussions that seem to be popping up lately. I can understand if an elder mylot member did this, because they are merely excited and add content to their discussion. However, those who do it and not add content no matter what post count they have should really go back and read the terms of service for mylot.
Well, I hope that mylot can do something about this soon. I hope you have a wonderfully lovely day.

If someone has started a discussion about how they can make more money or why they are not making as much, I sometimes paste the myLot FAQ where it advises how one can improve their earnings by having quality posts. There's so many discussions though and I can't post it all the time and sometimes you think what are the FAQs for and why don't people use them?
I think the older users of myLot may sometimes not be as tolerant of newbies but they will learn as they go along, no doubt like the older users' did when they first joinedand it does not cost a thing to help them along or just ignore the posts if all else fails..

marina I am tolerant to a point but why blame mylot when'the
fault lies in the user and not all of them are newbies either'
as some have as many points as I or more. just get careless
'and forget to read the rules. every darned time I have tried to help I have just lost points as the discussion waas deleted.so now I just move on.

Hi Hatley,
I consider myself a newbie here in mylot, but I am very careful to my actions here in mylot and see to it that as much as possible it doesn't violate mylot's TOS. However, I am open for corrections if I post something wrong and somebody will tell me that, as far as I am concerned though it doesn't happened yet as far as my stay here for two months time.
And I agree with you on your observations to some mylotters who make complains with regards to the number of posts they have without considering the quality it give to the reader and mylotters in general. I hope some people here would learn that as well.
Happy mylotting to you.
Hugs,

I think it is a lesson they just need to learn. I think a lot of them think they are going to strike it rich and they just crank out useless post after useless post and then they see how little they have made and they complain. I would think many of them leave as well and that might not be totally bad either. If you think you are going to get rich here then you are at the wrong place. This is suppose to be a discussion board and I have actually learned quite a but here. I will admit though when I receive my first payout this month I won't be upset about it.

hello my friend Hatley
surely, i of course have realized this problem already. There are many users respond the discussions with only a word for the high quantities purpose.I think it is not good to earn money on mylot.Because mylot always counts the earning by the quality of the words we did,not the quantities.I always keep my standard to respond and post discussions here. But even though i did it well in my mind, but i think i also need improving my respondence level. It is necesary to me.lol
good luck to you

I know that there can be something which hads to be done to make good money. I have read all the rules and all my responses are up to the mark i guess. but still, not enough

Hatley,
very well said and I couldn't agree more with you on this. QUALITY is the key thing here and not the QUANTITY. I have tried to that and have earned quite well so far. And yes the FAQs are very important, even now I go through it just to keep myself updated.
Thanks.

There's not much we can do. The won't read the rules and they rarely listen to advice we give them anyway. We can just lead by example though and hope they get the hint eventually.

I avoid those questions now because they get deleted. I posted in a few some time ago referring them to the guidelines but I don't think they even checked them as they still posted more questions about how this place works and stuff. It's annoying so I just don't respond.
Sometimes people have to learn the hard way.

I see this a lot too. The rules are pretty clear. Whenever I respond to a newbie I try to welcome them in and all but maybe we should also remind them to read and follow the rules if they want this to be a pleasant experience. Maybe us older members should spend a little more time on the welcome wagon. I know I go to the new user discussions from time to time but not often enough. You've brought up some good points. I think I'll spend a little more time reading thru the new user discussions and responding. who knows? maybe it'll help?

hi sid yes the rules are easy to read and I do try to welcome the newcomers too, and remind them to read the rules. my question I guess is if they are going to cook something new surely they read the recipe first?same thing with mylot, read the rules first.
