hummers

I have so many humming birds at the feeder, they go through 3 cups of syrup a day. They all fuss at me when I go to refresh their food and if I wear a red shirt they become too friendly. Do you have these where you live and if so which type?

As far as I know hummingbirds are not bred in captivity They are very active birds and would not do well caged. In most places in the US you can hang a feeder, at least in the rural areas hummers will come. I don't know about other countries.

We had this same issue this year with our hummingbirds. I have never seem so many going after one feeder in our yard. We had two feeders but they preferred the one with little yellow flowers on it. They would become agitated when it was time to refill. They would swoop at us as we would hang the feeder back up. We would leave for work in the morning leaving them a full 2 feeders and come back in the afternoon and the one would be completely dry and they would be ticked! We had several ruby throated ones this year.

We have several different kinds of humming birds where I live (or at least they are different colors). I am not sure what kind they are, but I do know they are very attracted to bright colors.

Oh i love humming birds i don't see that many but i do have a feeder.I think they are so cute, their little wings going so fast.You are really lucky to have so many and friendly to.

in my are humming birds are very rare to find.
