The Queen of the Damned...did they even read the book?

I just watched this movie after reading the book and was shocked at how badly done it was. There are so many errors and critical parts of the book that were just completely left out! I really wonder what Anne Rice thought/felt after seeing this. I mean no disrespect to any of the actors, but honestly they did not even come close into giving the book justice. At least the soundtrack was awesome! Those of you who read the book or not what did you guys think of this movie? Were you upset as I was? Thoughts?

Dracula/vampires - We love to be scared by the vampires
They seem to leave a lot out when they take a book and make it into a movie. I know Aaliyah played her and was killed in a plane accident and I thought I heard they left out more than they wanted. I think if they used everything in the book the movies would go on for hours. But I think they could do some of them a lot better than they do.
