Is writing a good hobby?

Yes,writing is both a hobby and a passion.When you think of it only as a passion,making some money may seem to appeal to you.However,when you view it only as a passion,money may not really matter,because you always want to voice out your thoughts.You want people to know how you feel about a viewpoint.Only when you have done so will your mind and soul come to rest. It is possible you do some writing for free or for a peanut.Never mind,the experience you'll gain will work cash for you in other jobs.No amount of experience is sufficient for a writer.You keep learning everyday. Therefore,whether writing is good or not is your own perception.But what you love doing well all of the time nourishes the body,mind,and soul altogether.Only food will not!

Yes, I agree that writing is positively a good hobby. However words are still words, it is only up to the writer to make it expressive to represent his viewpoints or perspective. I like to write and MyLot is great. I also into other sites which I am a member of that allows me to share my thoughts in the form of articles. With that, I am being paid at the same time. Feels good to see the amount increasing, though relatively slow. Cheers.

Ofcourse writing as well as reading is a good hobby. It keeps you in touch with the subject and the matter which is very esential for self development. Do you read novels and write regularly?

Well, I don't post in discussions that aren't of my interest, even with mylot paying. I only post in discussions that interest me and that I have something to add to. But, no, I probably wouldn't post in any if mylot didn't pay. There are other places where discussions can grow much more organically if I just wanted to talk.

I have loved to write ever since I was a child. I haven't always had time for it. Life often gets in the way. However, I have been in a writer's group for a few years now and really enjoy that. I started back to college and am working on my degree in Professional Writing in the Creative track. I guess that would make writing a passion for me. My problem now is that I do a lot of writing, but it is for my job which is very cut-and-dry, not creative. But, I am thankful for the job! Even if mylot did not pay at all, I think I would continue with mylot. It is interesting and fun. I only post for topics or questions that interest me. I don't respond to the ones that don't interest me.

Yes, writing is good. You can express your feelings and learn thru reading and writing. I would still contribute posts even if mylot is not paying but I would admit that I will not write as much. It is indeed a good feeling to earn something from doing something don't you think? =o)
