Well, even as I continued reading the books (1 and on) I kept saying that they were getting scarier and more intense. The movies seem to be doing the same, although not at the same pace (movies a little slower than I think). But I defenaitly think that if they continue like that the last movies will probably not be the best things for young children. I won't even let my nieces (5 and 7) watch the preview for the last one...I just think Lord V. is too scary and they wouldn't understand it all, they would just think it was scary.

I think you have to know your kid too. I have one son younger than 13 that has no problem with fantasy movies like HP or LOtR, Star Wars, etc. even if they are scary or have some violence. On the other hand, he gets deeply affected if he sees bad things happen to characters that could be real people. Like if a brother does something mean to another brother. That is what keeps him up at night, not ol' Voldy. Go figure.

i think its not for kids anymore... it's for those who were kids back in the first movie... It's for those who have grown with the characters and i think it's not for those who will see this movie for the first time, meaning no backgrounds at all from the previous harry potter movies/books. It's for us who have shared years with harry potter since he started attending Hogwarts. I think the 6th movie is for 13 years old and above... or in some countries, 15+, like here in the Philippines.

I agree with all the above, yes come Christmas the selves will be packed with Harry Potter goodies, but the movies are starting to drift away from the more young audience area, they are growing more intense and more grown up like. i think the director are just now seeing that the movies are a hge hit when they come out so they figure "lets make them more intense and exciting and thrilling, that way people will want to see it over and over again". that's my view.
