what is the best way to help poors?

In the USA I think we could do several thing to help the poor of our own country before we try to solve the rest of the World's problems. First of all, if we cut our foreign aid by at least 50% and reduce the military deployment all over the world, we will have more than enough money to provide shelter for the homeless and food for the poor and indigent people here. Another step would be to create jobs for those who can work, as was done during the Depression in the first half of the last century. One of those projects could be to provide affordable housing. I'm sure there many other things could be added to this short list to make life better for all of us.

Give them employment so that they can help themselves. Giving them money is only a short term solution. They have to want to change their own situation. Education is key for any of them to have a chance in the world.

best way to help poor?? it is a very big question. i don't believing in giving them all money, or create food bank, or pray,, i think these all thing helps poor to improve.. yes we can help them with starting some free money generation training,, we can also provide some professional education for their children.. and i think education is the most important part.. it can helpful to reduce population by awareness.. it can also helpful to get any job.. any business, self help group.. and so many more thing.. last of ,, i think poor is not our problem,, our problem is tendency of poorness ;;; we can't remove poor from India,, because i see that in our country a person have bike, cellphone, and so many other things home appliances.. but his name is enrolled in below the line of poorty.. in Indian ,, there are lots of poor who are not really poor,, they register them in line of poor,, because they want some profit and benefit from the government.. real poor don't know about them.. and government also don't want to know about them.. i think poor are not a problem.. they are in nature,, habite,, and mentality..

In my opinion the best way to help poor only to educate them, eradicate superstitious , share their joy & sorrow and always stay with them so that there will be a feeling that some one is behind them. If we give them proper education with skill training in the related field which will help them to maintain their lively hood.Giving money to them will not serve the purpose. pkc3000

Don't create jobs for them - make them get out there like everyone else and get a job that isn't provided by the government.

hello mahesh, i have always wanted and dream to help the poor in some ways i know how in the future. i once been very poor and i know exactly what it is like and i know what i needed then to help myself out, having said that if ever i get that opportunity to help others here are my thoughts/plans for it. 1. help them by providing them a job. giving them money will just help them in a few days or months but it will be gone and they will need to ask for help again. if you provide them a job, you give them stable future and they will see the worth of their work and themselves as well. you dont only help them but you also help yourself because you earn (maybe not much but still) in the process. also, by providing them a job you dont only help them but you are also helping the community by the tax you are paying from your company. 2. help them get an education. education is very important and nowadays it is no longer a benefit from the country BUT something you have to pay and it is not cheap. the poor ones dont get a chance to reach their dreams coz they cannot afford an education SO if you help them with it, you are helping them to reach their goals and it will give them worth not only to themselves but as well as to their home and country. i dont mind helping one person at a time coz i believe one can make a difference already. i have read in a book that this writer help a student in a different country (Thailand i think) and the writer didnt ask anything in return but ask him to help someone in need once he reach his goal. it is kinda pay it forward theme and i feel it is the best way to spread the help and love. anyway, i am still working that out and i hope someday (hopefully not too late) i can reach such dream of mine to help others in ways i know how. takecare

The best way to help the poor would have to come from the government..The government needs to weed out all the users of the system,and there are many of them out there,and to help those that REALLY are in need...On a personal basis,the best way to help would be to donate your un used goods to charity...If you know of or see a need of someone in your personal life and you are able to help them,then do so...I do this in my life,and i also donate to a worthy charity...

This is a very good topic. I think the best way to help the poors is to give them enough education. And therefore they can find a job easily and they can depend on themselves rather than depend on others' donations. I love China

hii mahesh there are different ways by which we can help the poor..if you are financially sound then you can provide them with their necessities.else will be lot of oppurtunities for you to help the.taking free tuition is one of the best ways.helping small children to study will be a great help to the poor who cannot afford the high tuition fees.giving your old clothes will definitely help them.you and your friends can volunteer to help them by organizing a medical camp with the help of kind doctors in your locality.they will have samples of medicines which you can give the sick for free.you can even join some sevice organisations and take part in the various activies conducted by them.even without spending money if you can spare some of your free time you can do wonders.look for the opportunity and utilize it to the maximum.all the best!

The best way to help people is to make them independent and confident of themselves. Teach them how to fish, not to eat the fish. I mean, help them to develop their talents and abilities because they are only one who can really help themselves. Help them to avoid being dependent of others and build their self-esteem because most of them are thinking they are helpless or hopeless in their situation.

I think there are a lot of way to help them ! at first ,i think our goverment should take more attantion to them ,for exempe they could give them the chance to study more ,why they are poor ,for great is that they have not get enough knowlege adn they can find a good way to earn money and can/t find a good way to live .. other thing we can do maybe : supply them a way to work ,is very important,and make some good police to help them

You can find poor people everywhere...for me the best way to help them is to provide jobif possible,so that in this way they have source of income for their everyday living.

I think the best way to help them is by education. Cause education is the only thing that wouldn't be taken away from them. Educate them on how to live life the right way. Teach them how they can earn money so that they wouldn't go on streets and beg people to help them. You should teach them how to stand on their own and not to always depend on other people.

Hi Mahesh, I think the root cause of poverty in our country is lack of education. so our first step should be to see that some how each and every child (both boys and girls) should have some way to get into a school to get the education which is the only way to their bright future. Free education facilities should be available for poor children. This definitely seems to be very difficult task but in long run only this can change things and we can look for better world. And now what can we do for poor, ..........if each of us will start teaching two poor children of our society........it will be great help and real help.....education is a kind of wealth that will never end and will surely open better future gates for these children. Money, and other supplements which we could provide is a temporary solution.. It is the generous heart, and the mind to think they are humans like us, and the willingness to share, not on the grounds of gaining publicity, but purely on self less service, will help a good way to eradicate the poverty and thereby the poor are taken care of.

Hi... Donate more money!!! Money is the only thing that we can give them. Education? Thats impossible for me to become a teacher and giving free teaching for them. Then surely i will become one of them. The government is the one should give them free education and provide them some books so that they can get their own job in the future and wont keep on suffering in the same situation. Lolx. but i am damm sure that donating money will not serve the purpose because by this we are making them realize that being poor is not a problem but an asset and money can be earned just by beging.. so pleaese donot give them money.. instead give them clothes or food to eat...

I think that the only way to improve and help the poor is to make them educate... some are poor by money and some by mind.. those who are poor by monney can be helped by organising weekend claases for poor children in our localities or helping or getting indulged with some work with some NGO working for upliffment of poor... those whoare poor by mind i.e. they want beegary as their profession then they can be only helped by awareness and some times by strict laws.. laws should be the last thing.. ******PLEASE COMMENT....*************
