Buddy if Linux was the only option left in this world then there will be plethora of viruses for Linux. Speaking of interface I think Linux has the best user interface of all operating system. The reason that Linux has fewer viruses is because Linux has gained that much popularity. Still 90% of computer users still use Windows as their Operating System.

And it would have knocked a Linux machine for six at the time. The only reason most viruses nowadays are for Windows is because most clueless users with no security measures use Windows. If there was no such thing, the clueless people would be using Linux.
