Who is the most famous Celebrity, Sportsperson or Movie-Star you have ever met? What were they like? And were they everything that you thought they would be?
I am lucky enough to know a good many, but this is about you, not me, so please tell us your story !

I grew up listening to classic country, and was huge fan of Ernest Tubb. I remember the year I was 11, and it was time for the Forest Festival in Atlanta, Texas. That was a big thing in that area. Bigger than the Four States Fair. We went, every year, regardless of who was there. That particular year, it was Ernest Tubb. We waited in line, for hours. I wish, to this day, I'd gotten his autograph. When our turn came up, he looked at me and my two younger brothers. He took a liking to me and my baby brother, because we were redheads. He sat down on the edge of the stage and had a conversation with us, like he was just any other ordinary man. When he found out who my mom's dad was, he freaked out. Turns out, many years ago, when Mom was a little girl, my grandfather knew Ernest Tubb, and played with his band, for a short time. He had the chance to go on the road with them. WOW!
When I asked my grandfather about it, later, his response was: "I didn't want to leave my family at home alone so much. Besides, if I'd done that, you wouldn't have your Aunt Lacrecia and your Uncle Richard." Then he grinned, and the subject was closed.

What a great story. There's the "If only" part, but you know - What a lovely thing to do by not leaving the family home alone ... I admire that gentleman. Thanks, GTG
