Everyone at some time or other will experience a "Murphy's Law" day. Everything that can go wrong will. Well yesterday was one of those days for me. The stem on my glasses broke. Got glue on the lens while trying to glue it back on. Glue didn't work. Took them to get them fixed...stem broke in a place where it can't be fixed. Tried to get glue off lens so I could get new frames. Lens fell out as well as one of the "nose rest" Now here is the sad part...I am not at home, I am in Tennessee visiting my daughter and her family. My spare pair is at my home. My grandson had his first football game today and I had to miss it because I couldn't see. Have you had a Murphy's Law day this week, or even this month?

Man, oh man, do I know the feeling. Hmm, where to start, where to start? I have a knee I injured, a couple years ago. The job I last had was cashier. Had to stand a lot for that job. On my way to work one day, that knee tried to give out. In order to save the knee, I rebalance. Rebalance causes sprained ankle. Lose week of work. Loss of one week of work costs money needed for apartment. Lose apartment. Move 360 miles back home to Texarkana. Stress on car causes breakdown after move-in. Bought junker, because it was cheaper than fixing other car. Need to find something close to home, so as to not stress out this car. Manage to get job, again, as a cashier in Texarkana. Again, on my feet a lot. Stress on knee causes knee to go out. No stopping it, this time. Loss of work. Doctor bill comes out of rent money. Maybe again will be moving. How's that for about three months' worth of Murphy's Law?

That sure does make my woes such a mundane thing. It makes me think again about what's important in life and what little things can shake us up. I hope your troubles get solved soon and you can get back to living a full and happy life.

Dear old Murphy visited me numerous times too. As much as I hated him, I learned to look at the positive side of what I can learn out of the whole situation. Though not welcomed, Murphy has taught me lots of precious lessons over the years. Not my favourite teacher, but he will always be around to teach us from time to time. Just my two senses.

I guess Murphy is a good teacher. We sometimes need him to remind us of the things we know but do not practice.

You are one lucky person. I seem to be best friends with this Murphy even though I would rather not even know "him". The good thing is it is a great way to learn what not to do or what should have been done. Next trip I take there will be 2 pair of glasses going with me. Then we'll see what Murphy does to put a damper on that trip.

Hi there Kowgirl! Oh! It's sad that you were not able to watch your grandson play. Did his team win? Well, I have had several similar experiences. It can really be annoying when this happens. Just last week, in my class, Murphy's Law proved to be right. I reserved the LCD projector and the CPU for my class to use. When my class was to start, I asked the student assistant to set-up the LCD and CPU in my classroom. Unfortunately, they were not available. The student assistant told me that someone else reserved it. I told him that was impossible as I reserved it the day before. He showed me the reservation log-book and explained that the page I wrote on apparently was missing. My class was a 3-hour class and the one who reserved it had a 1-hour class. Well, after an hour, the CPU and LCD will be available anyway. So, I decided to tell my class to work on an activity while waiting for the CPU and LCD to be available. The student assistant delivered the CPU and LCD after an hour. For some reasons, it took about 15 minutes to set up the CPU and LCD as the LCD seems not to work. Anyway, when they were ready for use, the reporter started preparing her report. Well, the CPU can't detect her USB. One of her classmates offered his laptop. Okay, so the laptop can detect her USB. Unfortunately, her powerpoint presentation can't be opened. Apparently, she used a more advanced version of Microsoft PowerPoint while an older version of Microsoft PowerPoint was installed in her classmate's laptop. It took about an hour or so before she was ready for her report. Just when she was about to start with her report, the power went off! Since it was an evening class, it was already dark in the classroom. Oh well, we just had to call it a night and went home... oh my!

WOW! Murphy's Law sure did a doozy on your day. Hope you had a better one the day after. It's nice to know we have teachers here on mylot. As for the football game ...his team lost but they learned a lot from the other team. Thanks for nice thought.

I can only look at it as a learning experience I guess we all learn from our mistakes or try to. Sorry your friend didn't make it. At least you can keep in touch through the internet or snail mail.

I do have these "Murphy's Laws" every once in a while. It makes you just want to crawl right back into bed doesn't it? Sometimes I don't have such a good day with my son and everything falls down like a domino effect. I am sorry to hear that you couldn't make it to your grandson's football game. That is too bad.

Yes, one bad thing always seems to lead to another. Maybe that's why they say bad things happens in threes.
