Has anyone ever tried secret shoppers..........

i'm a mystery shopper, it's a hobby thing to do. i'm signed up with a few companies. 2 pay ok and the other well it's a no go. the company i do the od job for is called gab buster it's world wide. they've beeng great to deal with, you can even get audit jobs, which pay higher. but not much, it's a good thing to have in resume, by doing things on time, using a computer, camera scanner etc. what ever you need to up the load the information you got when on the assignment. plus doing things in a certain time frame. i can get extra fuel money if i've got to drive somewhere especially to do the job, normally they phone and organise it that way.

I've never actually done one, but the whole idea seems dubious. If the only intention is to evaluate the staff, can't the company workers just to it themselves?

I did one last friday. It was my first day of job as a permanent staff after working in a call centre for an airline for a year. As part of my orientation, I was tasked to be a secret shopper at the ticket office elsewhere, just to test the staff on servicing and product knowledge. Prior to that I made a dummy airline reservation with my details screwed up so that I can find an excuse to trouble the staff a little when I'm playing my role. I thought it was fun.

I'm sorry about not being able to answer your question I'm just rather curious, what is a "Secret Shopper" you shop without other people noticing? Seems odd to me O_O
