you know when you play a game and you know instantly that your going to be playing it for a VERY long time? come on you know exactly what i mean. man i love those kind of games, the kind of games that never get boring, no matter how much you overplay them. for me that was call of duty 4. i dont know why but for some reason as soon as i started playing it i got that feeling and knew instantly that this would become my new game. ive only ever had that "feeling" once before, and that was with 007 for the n64.
What do you feel is the best game for the 360 thus far?
have you every gotten that feeling with any game (this one or a different one)?

Halo 3 it is! This game rocks on so many levels. First the single player game is amazing and fun. Assuming you beat the game on a lower level you always can bump up a level and try again. Second the online experience is like another game in itself. With the level based scoring system and the ability to play with friends from afar this game has the total package.

I agree about the online playing to an extent. I really loved, and still love, running through the campaign on co-op. But so far as the matches, bleh. No thanks. I'm not up for the glitching cheaters on computers as I play on my 360 console.
I would mod my 360 to keep up, except I do a lot of competitions and have had to prove my 360 is pure.

I couldn't say what I think is the best game of all time for the 360 because I haven't played all of them. I can't tell you what my favorite game to play is on the 360...Rock Band. I know I'm going to probably be the only one in this discussion that has that response, but that's okay. I also play Guitar Hero, but what I like about Rock Band is the large options for playing it. There are different instruments to work on and you can play in a band with others. I'm just not a fan of 1st person shooters. I'm not big on Halo, in fact I've never played it...not my thing. I'm not fond of GTA because I got burned out on it from listening to my room mates play GTA3 for days straight, although I have thought about maybe trying GTA4. I watched my husband play it and I thought it was pretty cool. I have played some of the splinter cell games and I do like those because, in my opinion, there's more strategy involved than in games like Halo. I also like RPG games, like Fable which isn't out on the 360. I'm looking forward to Fable 2, though. I'm also a fan of strategy games and have had a lot of fun playing Civilization Revolutions. I love Civ 4 on PC, but Revolutions gives a little faster-paced game for the younger gaming crowd and it is a fun game to play.

Halo 3 is overrated, but yes it is good. My personal favorite is Bioshock. A really good story and a different way of playing an FPS. I can't wait for the movie.

Call of Duty 4 was OK. But I'm an old school gamer and found the people in multiplayer to be less than desirable.
There are really no games I will be playing for all time. Simply because more and more new games come out and myself and my gaming clan have to move on. However, I do often go back and replay certain games over and over. I play GRAW about once every two weeks. Some classics deserve to be dusted off.
