how can i consolate my friend and what do you think i can do to my friend?

one of my friends is on the way to get engaged with her 5-year boyfriend but things do not turn out as pleasant as it should have been. Her family like the boy and admit the engagement thing,but his family has a differnt view. They think my friend should change her job to a place which is near the boy' home so that it will be easier to both of them once they get married. My friend said it would be ok if someone in the boy's family could help which in fact that couldnt be done. My friend is afraid to lose her job after she attempts to swith her present job.But they love each other so much and they dont know what to do~~~ this is the first time i come across with this kind of stuff in my real life~~~ i really think someone would give some advice to my friend. you know,true lovers should be together would you please spare a few minutes and give me some hints? thanks a bunch
