Would you, or have you jumped out of a plane before and gone sky diving?

On the weekend I watched my aunty and uncle be very courageous. They jumped out of a plane and did sky diving. I watched anxiously waiting for their parachute to come out, once it did I was relieved. They said it was awesome, my aunty couldn't get enough thrills she kept doing twirls with her parachute. Whereas my uncle was terrified, he is scared of heights.
I would like to go skydiving, my mum has offered to pay for me for my thirtieth birthday on September 9th this year. I think I will do it, is something that I would want to do in this lifetime. It would be really scary, but a great adrenalin rush. The views would be amazing as they sky dive onto Dicky beach here. I think the scariest part would be where you are sitting in the open door of the aeroplane looking down, that is where my heart would be pounding.
So please share you experiences or thoughts on skydiving. SO I can decide whether I am really going to take the plunge..........

but u know its better than falling on Sand or Soill, u will have some chances of survival

You have wings so you can catch me if I fall .
I say take the risk and free fall into nothing . Why not in the ocean !

How strange that you have started this discussion kiran, I was going to do this very discussion but on my hubby. Because on tuesday just gone he did a parachute jump, and that was his present for HIS thirtieth birthday which is in November!
I think that you should definately do it if you want to, because my hubby had wanted to do it for years and I think if you dont you will regret it, he loved it and wants to do it again!

Hey, that is so good to hear that your husabnd loved it. I like to hear more good stories like this. I think you are right if I don't do it, I will regret it, I think it is something most of us should do before we hit the bucket, lol. Have you seen the movie Bucket list, it is about 2 cancer ward patients who just found out they are going to die, they decide to write a bucket list (things to do before you die). That movie really got me thinking about my life, you should watch it if you haven't seen it.
Your husband got an extra early present, lucky him. Have you gone sky diving yourself?

I have not seen that film, no but I kind of know what the gist of it is. I think that too many people say that they will do something but then never do. Life is too short to be like that and so if you think you want to do something just do it. Especially if you have got the chance too.
And NO I have never done it and I never will LOL not me, not me at all the very thought of it makes me feel sick LOL.

I agree life is too short, you should do things that you really want to do and make the most of life.
I will be really scared too, I am scared of heights. Don't go sending me a sky diver now on facebook, lol.

I haven't done this before, but I think I would do it. I can't say that it's at the top of my list of priorities, but the idea is appealing to me, and I think it would be a trill. I also believe it's safe, provided you do it at a place that specializes in letting beginners try it. There are many such places, and a lot of people do this now, yet you never hear of parachuting accidents. You probably take your life into your own hands more driving down the highway than you would doing this.

Lol, I knew you meant thrill, I make typos all the time, wish they had edit on here.
I think you are right it is probably more dangerous driving then jumping out of a plane. you hear of so many car accidents on a daily basis it is frightning.

Hello littleowl, Shanae has been really sick for a week now, bad chesty cough and conjunctivitus, it's awful, feel so sorry for her.
I think sky diving would be a great thrill, but scary too, I am actually scared of heights. It's a shame you aren't able to do it.

Hi Tamara, Wow you love heights, you are very brave. I am actually scared of heights too like my uncle but I still think it would be worth it for the adrenalin rush and the views overlooking the beach. Why can't you do it because of your age, not sure how old you are. But my uncle was 53 years old and my aunty was 48 years old.

Hi kiran,
I won't be able to do the parachute jump because I back problems and hips and I'm disable my age is 56 on the 16th, beside I don't think my husband can afford it, he is too busy buying bike stuff.
Love & Bright Blessings

if i had the chance i would in a heartbeat, i think it would be a rush and a lot of fun. I would like to try it atleast once in my life time, it looks exhilerating. lol but the thought of the parachute not opening, i think, would always be on my mind.

I am worried too about the parachute not opening. I don't think I could do it, if it was up to me to pull the chute open, but since the instructer is with me pulling the parachute, I feel more confident. I also think it is probably more dangerous driving a car, with crazy drivers on the road. Atleast your not going to have a parachute crash with someone else, lol.

lol yeah that is true, there are a lot of crazy drivers out there, and probably have more chance of being in an automobile accident than not having your parachute open

Hi kiran,
That is exciting...Actually, I love to experience that, I have not tried yet but got several friends who told me it is really something that I need not to miss in life! LOL!
I am looking forward for that, I know I will be shouting a lot but for sure, it will be a great experience!
Go for that, I am sure you will love it!

Eeekkk...just reading that made my tummy do flip flops! Would I? I don't know. But I'll bet it's a thrill of a life time. Just the other day I went off the high dive at the public pool. I couldn't NOT do it, kids were jumping and they were way younger than I. Me, when I jumped, I screamed. I don't think I remember the event as my eyes were closed.

My tummy does flip flops too, lol, but I think like you said it would be a thrill of a life time. I am also scared of high jumps at pools. I think I feel safe as you jump with the instructer, I think they have done it many times and are experienced. If I had to jump myself and pull the parachute don't think I could do it.

Never have and never will, as i am severely afraid of heights. However if not for the fear of heights i am sure i would do it, i do love to try new things and things that not everyone gets a chance to do in their lifetime.
