I think that with other countries getting the ability to use nuclear bombs it will be more difficult for the United States to stay the super power. But with the advent of additional technologies and the money the United States has, as well as the fact that Democracy is here to stay I think that the United States will by far stay the course as the Super Power with Russia, China, and India holding on to a very very very storng second. I think the day all three countries finally stop arguing the day peace will be easier for us to obtain together throughout the world. To me India and the United States stand for freedom and understanding, wheras China and Russia answer more to their governments...I know Russia is no longer communistic but the government still rules.

I am slightly suprised...only slightly though ;) but in what way does the US stand for freedom and understanding? Their government is more and more limiting the freedom of itrs citizens, also they have their troops in several other countries as we speak, also they boycotted brasil for the security council while they got the support of the rest of the world...they only support democracies they agree with...
They´ve supported many dictators and many others they choose top ignore (which means they do not do anything to help opressed citizens in those countries)...
And this is only on the freedom part...now about understanding that will be a bit shorter...
The US does NOT understand the rest of the world at all, look at their international politics and what they achieve...they `liberated` oil...eehr ...i mean Iraq but what do they get done with diplomacy?
Understanding does NOT mean trying to force your morale values on other countries or minorities inside your won country!

I wish the USA (because I live in the US) but I think India. Most major companies are outsourcing to India, and their economy is booming.

Yeah I think that china will be the major player by 2050. Huge growth, western knowledge and massive population will see them at the forefront !

I think China has a good chance at it, but I don't think the Chinese governmet has that much interest in the actual politics of the rest of the world. I think if they did become the superpower nation they wouldn't do much with it. I think the lack of interest is the only thing that has prevented it from already happening.
Unfortunately, that means the US will probably remain the superpower...how fortunate for the rest of the world...

i think initially china and india is going to lead because of there fastest growing economy rate as hardware is with china and software is with india......but later on india leads it because statistics say that chinas teenage population is going to be reduced by 2050, by which it would suffer the labour costs.....in which india would lead it and surpass as it is also going to have good technological skills in hardware and software by that time................
