Yesterday, we celebrated the whole day as if we were back in our country of origin. It was a Philippine Fiesta in Canada. The organizers of the festival rented a picnic area at Meadowvale Conservation Park in Mississauga, Ontario. There were a lot of people from different corner of Canada and even from the USA. There were so much food and drinks that there were still left over 10 hours later. Aside from eating and mingling there were plenty of parlor games for the kids which they really enjoyed. I surely wished my kids were here as they would have enjoyed every minute of it. Do you enjoy attending fiestas or such an event?Just Sharing,
SFC

I used to really enjoy these types of events. However, I now have young children, so if it isn't geared toward children, we don't go. It's too hard to navigate the crowds with small children and they get bored and it just goes downhill from there! But, if it has child-related activities and the crowds and wait-times aren't too bad, we do enjoy going.

I LOVE outdoor events, you're walking around in the sun, get to see so many different types of people, meet different people as well, check out different cultures, see the sites, and maybe if you're lucky, see a show or two, and do some shopping!

When I was younger I loved attending things like that. I lived in Baltimore City and we had many festivals in the Inner Harbor area of the city. I loved going to them!
Since I got lupus and fibromyalgia, I am no longer able to enjoy a day of celebrating. I don't have the energy.
I agree with you about the children. They always seem to enjoy celebrations like that! I hope your children will be with you next year to enjoy it, assuming that this is an annual thing.

It depends on the occasion of the celebration. If it's for something that interests me, I am more than excited to be there, but if it is for something that is a lot less than intereesting to me (loud rock music for example) then I will have absolutely no interest.

Oh it's good to know that the Filipino community there in your place does have the time to mingle and celebrate there like it is being celebrated here in the Philippines. I do love attending fiestas in here but I feel that its already getting harder to celebrate in our place since our economy is not that good anymore. I can hear there are places that still celebrate but here in Manila I guess it has become a fewer. Of course the Christmas in here is being celebrated but all those fiestas are becoming fewer in the metropolis.

Last night there was a party at my brother's house. All my siblings were there except for one sister who was in another province. My son was also there and he arrived that afternoon. For many years I never attended these celebrations.

I am not really a party lover or a fiesta lover. But I do attend special gatherings depending on the occassions and the once inviting. There are situations that I really have to attend as part of work and sometimes to mingle with old time friends.

I love to attend specially it will be friends gathering. I love spending time with them if got no other things or appointment to attend. I think it's a time for sharing and talking for friends that seldom meet. Also I will surely enjoy it.

I love to! I am very fond of fiestas/celebrations/parties since I love to eat and it is one of my hobbies. About fiesta, it is my thesis right now and I am very happy because I have the chance to eat their exotic foods, foods that I can only see in that kind of celebration. But I am not only attending parties just to eat. I am a sociable person and a writer, too so being with people part of my love. By being with different kind of people, I learned a lot and I can have a variety of topic to write.

Yea! I just attended one such Festival last night! It's called SingFest! It's Singapore's Music Festival and lasted for 2 days (2nd Aug and 3rd Aug). This year, it's really big. Many big acts were here over the weekend. Acts like Simple Plan, Travis, Pussycat dolls, One Republic, Jason Mraz, Rick Astley and Alicia Keys were here.
I only went on 3rd Aug and I managed to catch Jason Mraz, Rick Astley, Alicia Keys and Pussycat dolls. It was great. This festival is more for young adults so there were no games stalls. However, the music was more than enough to keep us dancing and jumping.

Hi Muelitz, yes I like attending Fiestas! I like different kinds of delicacies and foods. I hope I can attend another fiesta anywhere in the Philippines, most specially in provinces,. Because everyone is invited and welcome to other's house. Hospitality is really a good practice here in the Philippines. I know you miss Philippines,

Fiesta is so happy to be with. I love fiestas. Not to mention the food, I always love the atmosphere where people get to dance at streets and just have a nice and clean fun all day.
