Why is that we so often do not have enough of enthusiasm to support the things we support or feel strongly for, while are very vehemently opposing the things we feel strongly against ?

...Like we aren't quite doing our bit whole heartedly when it comes to global warming, while we are opposing Industrialisation so vehemently, killing people with each move! Why is this? I think it has to do more with the immediate effect that anything has. Like when we see people being killed or families being devastated we can feel the immediate effect that the cause has brought with it. On the other and even though we are harping on the fact that O2 level is going down, water will be scarced and stuffs like that we can still breathe or use water. So, we cant really get it! Everything goes down to the level of awareness and our ability to look into the future. Unless and until the nails being hit right n the middle of our head we do not kind of get it!! Again the question of Wisdom comes in and we may well link up your other discussion. As you have said, Wisdom comes from our experiences and our experiences some times comes from our foolishness and what use is wisdom when it is too late to do us much good....I am at loss again!

Mimpi, You've hit the nail on the head and that too with the right examples. The reasoning also is perfect, the "immediate effect". We want immediate results, and the fact that most things we support do not give immediate results we have a sort diminished enthusiasm towards it. It's very sad though that this realisation comes to us very late. Thanks for wonderful response.

I think our unfounded apprehensions and our bitter experience deter our mind to support some of things, which should have. Sometimes we think about the consequence of 'supporting a cause' and finally withdraw ourselves from the move.

What you say is very true Dpk, however It's strange that sometimes we keep these apprehensions and experiences aside while we oppose something. Thanks

I think while 'opposing' a thing or move, same principle applies.

Well, I think it is a human nature....

It may be human nature, but it would make such a difference if we had the same enthusiasm as well. Thanks
