It's time to eat! My baby is 7 months old now and he's starting to be able to eat at the table with the rest of us. But, I can't be holding his spoon out for him all the time and every so often, he's able to snatch that spoon from my hand and shove it into his mouth. He doesn't care if the gloopy food is sliding down the handle or down his chubby fist. He just wants to feel it. I love giving him special foods to where he can feed himself. The way he looks at it and feels it with his fingers before it goes into that drooling mouth of his is something, I guess a loving hearted person can love and understand. Don't get me wrong, I'll put a bib on him for the real messy foods or if we're out in public, but at home, we have fun!

Thats great, meal times should be fun and relaxed happy family times it will 100% show them good healthy ways to eat and spend time together as a family.
I never minded the mess when they were learning to eat and the mess doesnt last long anyway, my youngest is 2 and she hardly drops any food anymore, she doesnt need a bib unless its a tomatoe based food then she wears her little apron.
