avatars changing and avatars for keeps

I must say that I recognise people from their avatars, so when it changes it takes me a while to work out who it is! On the other hand, you can learn a lot about someone when they change avatars, because you can see what appeals to that person. I personally don't change mine - that just shows I'm lazy.

I don't so much get bothered by it, but I can find it a bit confusing when a mylotter changes their avatar, especially if I don't remember their user name. I haven't changed my avatar in over a year, but before this I changed it often. I sure hope I didn't confuse anyone back then! I just figured with a user name like mine it was easy enough to remember, so I didn't worry about.

I wish people would just keep their avatars the same. It would make a lot more sense for people like us, if they would. I agree with you. There are so many people on here, and so many people we have as friends on MyLot, that we need a way to be able o keep track of them all.

Hi maryannemax...glad to see you around. There were only a few (twice also) times I've ever changed my avatar and only here. I've been using my crystal gazing black kitty one for about four or five years...it's gotten to be so much a part of me I can't really think of using another one..the times I did change it, honestly I confused myself..LOL Yes, it does seem some people change their avatars more regularly...and I often miss their old one, but I guess some people just like a change but it can be confusing...On the flip side...sometimes I'll see an avatar of what I THINK is one of my friends...but the name is different...meaning more than one user has decided to use the same avatar..so far I've NEVER seen anyone use mine...hope not..LOL

i also prefer not to change avtar at all because we can not remember the name of each person but even we can remember the avtar. i have one suggestion choose your avtar unique so that there will be no confusion and any misunderstanding . i have joined since 3 months back but i still i am having the same avtar till now i will keep the same forever.

hello friend: i am glad to respond your discussion here.I think it is a good way to recognize our friends by avatars.I always can remember my friend by their avatars. I think it is more remarkable to me.lol.So if some of them change their avatars frequently, i think i could not recognixe them any more if i don't track something,for instance, the letter we write to each other.I have used the 2 avatars till now, I like my avatar, it is lovely and meaningful. good luck

LOL. sorry, I am one of those people who keeps on changing avatars. anyway, avatar is the best way for us to remember our friends here in mylot, same here.. I get to forget them if ever they change their avatar.. so now, I always remember my active friends through their user name.. I myself tends to change my avatar if I have a new pictures.

I have been here 10 months. I have changed my avatar 1 that whole time. It went from a pic of my daughter, to a new pic of my daughter. When my son is born I may put an new avatar up. One of both of my children. It can be a bit frustrating. But I did try and let my friends know when I did it, and will do so again if I decide to change.

maybe i am not so particular with avatars. as you said, there are some people or member here that keeps on changing avatars, and one of the is me. i do not really get bothered with avatars, i can remember my friends name and that is more important to me. (red star 91 @ 1427)
